SAPTCO plays an important role in the provision of transport services during Hajj and Umrah period. The company transports many pilgrims from airports and seaports to Makkah and Madinah. It transports also local pilgrims from various Saudi cities to Makkah and Madinah and sacred places. In order to satisfy its obligations during Hajj period the company uses all its resources to provide better services to pilgrims and enable them to perform Hajj easily. SAPTCO has attained all its goals for the year 1424 H (2004 G). These goals include the following:

1. Quick and efficient response to private and public transport requirements during Hajj period by providing special and safe services in addition to satisfying the additional demand and achieving maximum benefit from available resources and capabilities.
2. Success of the coordination between SAPTCO and the concerned authorities such as Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Hajj and the various other departments in public security, traffic directorate, sacred capital secretariat, the custodian of two holy mosques institute for Hajj researches etc. a factor that facilitated the traffic and provided enough number of security elements to supervise transport of passengers in different SAPTCO's stations specially around Al-Haram area.
3. Operation of 2598 buses provided with all required drivers, operators and technicians.
4. Support of the cars general syndicate by provision of necessary number of buses for pilgrim transport. SAPTCO's contribution to the Hajj period for the year 1424 H (2004 G) reached 1,145 buses with total number of seats reaching 48,217 seats, and 1,423 buses for transporting pilgrims between sacred places with total number of seats approaching 63,232 seats.
5. The total number of pilgrims transported by SAPTCO during Hajj period of the year 1424 H (2004 G) reached about 4.1 million pilgrim compared with 3.9 million pilgrim transported by the company during Hajj period of the year 1423 H (2003 G).
6. In addition to the above-mentioned SAPTCO achieved the following during Hajj period of the year 1424 H (2004 G):
   1. Continuation of implementation, for the fourth consecutive year, of public transport plan in MENNA and from MENNA to Mekkah during Al-Tashriq days a thing that enabled the main committee, that prepared and followed the plan, to reach some conclusions aiming to find a global solution to public transport in sacred places and provide a better and regular public transport services. The most important conclusion is: the necessity to provide basic requirements of public transport system, that is to say: the road, bus, station, administration.
   2. Provision of enough resources to transport pilgrims from Jeddah to Makkah on 8th and 9th of Du-L-Hijja.
   3. Transport from some points as of 6^th of Du-L-Hijja.
   4. Continuation of provision of charter services at reduced prices to some of Altawafa Establishments.
   5. Participation in establishing and designing some of transport sites within the sacred places and near Al-Haram in Makkah.
